I'm not underestimating them at all...
but there's only so much you can teach in school... sooo you've got to hit the most important stuff first, at least.

basically all I'm saying is, pretty much every country plays their part in the world and its history... but everything's so linked, that you can't possibly teach it all in just a casual, nonspecified high school class... sooo we have to pick out just the most basic, general stuff.

But then the question is: What is important (besides learning to read/write and calculate etc..)

well no one knows... there's no way to determine it, you just can't. sooo the school systems just have to give it their best guess

yea, I just don't think that American has the best program and the best idea of what is important and what is to pick. I am sure that Germans are taught a lot mor and have way more ideas about how the world works
