well yea, unless they actually start listening to it
and I don't mean metalcore.

I've honestly stopped caring by now...
they're not worth getting upset over

but if they get to real metal, people will start considering emo the roots of metal or something like that. That would seriously be the last thing I wanted

I really hope that they find their way to pop or something. They can also do goth if they want to, but I seriously wouldn't want those in metal anyhow

Well I don't mean as a passing phase, but if they become true metal fans, then I think it's cool. My nephew who you met at WOA was into NuMetal at first, then he discovered the real thing and truly loves it. He now can see how shitty that other stuff was.

I doubt that could ever happen...
the history of metal is fairly obvious to anyone... like I see Metallica and Zeppelin shirts everywhere, even among people that don't listen to newer or heavier metal

might be, but I see more and more youngsters listening to metal like others listen to hip hop... because they think it's cool and that's it. And if they listened to emo bands before, they might tell everybody of those styles in combination..

well true you're right on that. But again using Matt as an example, he has searched back to the true roots of Metal, stuff like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Though I do agree that most emo fans would NEVER do that, Matt is a rare exception.

actually most people are thinking those music styles are combined already anyways. That's probably why we get more and more shitty bands in Wacken. They are working their way to emo

yea, I was the same way.
though I still occasionally listen to it
but that's just part of listening to a broad range of music.

exactly, the ones who don't look back to find the real roots are the posers and will likely lose interest in metal rather quickly, they are trend hoppers.
