That it's not funny is in first of all his oppinion and since he's the issue, that should be respected! He doesn't talk that way for fun, I assure you that. He talks that way, because it's the way he talks. That he's not talking like that for fun doesn't mean that you should be offended, because the intention of using words like "cunt" and "fuck" is in his case different than in yours.

You're not earning yourself much of respect here btw. by telling he hasn't deserved respect... this is bullshit! Giving respect to someone is your choice and nothing that the other needs to earn from you. And everyone has the right to be threatened with respect in a first.

If this makes you understand better, it's not about the words that he or you are using. It's about the fact, that this way of talking is his normal way of talking and therefore part of his identity. If you imitate that, you are making fun of him, not with him...

*agrees*
only thing I'd say is, for some people at least, swearing isn't the most respectable thing. but even if you don't like it, and especially since that's just how he is, you just have to accept what you don't like, and respect him as a person.
it's like how I won't ever get on to anyone about drinking... it's not something I respect, but that doesn't matter to me because I still respect you, just in general.

*zustimm* (or ²)

But just on a small note (er, if this is correct), there is a difference in TALKING and WRITING (what you think/say)
I know I write differently in Dutch then the way I talk. Otherwise you (AP, LW, Sipy as far as I know as Dutch knowing people) wouldn't be able to read it/understand me. I sometimes write in "my" Dutch, and even then I have to try to keep it as easy as possible.
Nevertheless, you (Sipy, Kris) are right.

En dè's dan ok mee ut lèste wè'k d'r òver kwêt wil.
