what the heck! The German orthography was changed in 1996. And now I read it will be changed again.
Sooner or later I'll have more mistake in a German paper than in an English one. Because I've learned the orthography which was used until 1996. Now I got used to some of the new rules and now it's changed again.... f***

Oh, nothing new over here. The Dutch changed their ortography recently, but it is already an issue of followoing it, as the Netherlands Broadcast Foundation (NOS), de Telegraaf, de Volkskrant and the NRC (all 3 are newspapers) are refusing to use it. (Last change: 1995)

And we can now get used to another spelling of German over here Swell!
(what a difficulty livin' in a 3 language country!!!)

here many newspapers are not using the new one... and especially if you write papers for university you have to use the new ortography, but in quotes from literature you still write in the old way because most literature was released before 1996 (and because the university seldom buys new editions). And now there will be a second change in autumn and only one year of transition period.
One more reason why I want our language as a own one... because I'm tired from the changes Germans always have to do....
