they never really leave you even an opportunity of something you can say or do to convince them. It's pretty unfair and hard

true... I'm guessing it's because it's easier to just shoot down the idea in the beginning, and not have to go through the trouble of working it all out.

The difference in culture between "us" Europeans and Americans. Their point of view is different.

And I can understand them. They've got to trust someone they don't know, and never seen.

well, you know about the story of my parents I guess. They're still different from the whole world. But I was locked up for long enough and made sure to let them know that. I actually ruined my relationship to them by it, but on the other hand... I don't think there has even been a relationship anymore since the "incident"

yea, sometimes you have to teach them things the hard way
like, awhile back they refused to let me wear "strange" clothes, and listen to metal :eek::eek:

I'm still older than you and with 18 I'm adult in germany. And it's also because I know Quark personally and know ways to contact him in case your parents can't do so by other ways.

Btw. I was in the same situation with Quark and my parents as you are now so they may consider my "case" interesting.

Having another adress is also always a matter of being sure. And it's not like I don't have parents which are indeed adult

Just passed data to FeM. So....
But you're right, your cases are simular.
