for me that's a very tough one, I'd hate to lose metal, and hearing my daughter's voice. But with out site i think one would be much more limited, much more dependent on others. Think about something like crossing a street or walking down stairs while blind.

I could still work, and do my job deaf, but blind I could not provide for my family.

that makes sense... although for me, I think it would be harder to be deaf, even besides not listening to music. like, I can do a lot of things already with my eyes closed. I can feel my way around. I'd just hate to be distracted, standing in the middle of nowhere, and not be able to hear a car coming right at me

very true, though they say that when one sense goes, the others get much more acute. So your sense of vibration would improve, which would help you sense things like cars (I would guess).

yea, and I might learn guitar :D
more so than I do now, at least. :p
and I can already play keyboard blindly, easily. I can feel where the keys are. so that wouldn't be a problem.

That is cool (keyboards) I have two guitars and almost never touch them, being blind I'd be motivated to actually practice guitar, and maybe get somewhat decent at it. I think maybe being blind would improve my sensitivity to the fretboard and tuning, individual notes, etc.

yea I know how that is.
all I really can't do with guitar is just general technique... I know the notes, I can tune by ear, I know how all that stuff works.
like, once I just sat down with my friend's guitar and taught myself the star-spangled banner. but it sounded like crap, because I didn't really know how to play it right.

I use a cromatic tuner, can't yet tune by ear, I really suck, I've learned a few riffs, no complete songs, that's all due to laziness and other priorities taking away my guitar practice time. My strat needs to be repaired, I may take it in to a shop for that next week.
