Interview
Besagtes Statement:
Frage:
The title of the album seems to be a clear reference to the sticker “This machine kills fascists” on the acoustic guitar of Woody Guthrie…
Buzzo:
…Who? I’ve never heard of him. I don’t know what are you talking about. (laughs, an)
Frage:
Why did you choose it? Is there any political meaning connected to this phrase from your point of view?
Buzzo:
Not really, he’s acoustic and I thought it was funny. It’s really hilarious. Plus you know, nobody ever asked him what he meant by it. The political definition of a fascist is essentially someone who wants the government to take care of everything, and it all started with the WWII. I’m not sure what he meant by that, because he was a socialist and there’s not a lot of difference. The definition of fascism now is something different from what it was originally meant to be… so I don’t know what people think that means, I have no idea. They think of “Nazi” things… but nazis were socialist. Woody Guthrie was a socialist, so what kind of fascist was he talking about? There is not a lot of difference. I think it’s ridiculous. He seemed confused."
