I don't understand why people always whine about the lineup at this point when there is like 17 bands announced..

And anyway my opinion is that Wacken is awesome no matter what bands there will be

And great bands will play. Though they might not be all big names. But i don't care. I'm usually more excited about the smaller bands that you rarely see.

Okay yeah that's not small anymore. But Wacken is a great place for less-known bands to get more popular.

Well, it's the same here as well. I would have called in sick, but a lot of super critical stuff on right now, which I couldn't have abandoned.

It's because they normally announce some really impressive names at the start.

Well, I have to agree here so far. This preliminairy lineup is nothing to be exited about, compared to last year's Savatage/TSO announcement. There's no SPECIAL show (yet to be) announced, no exclusives etc. And Wacken has always known to do such things.

But then again, it's "only" 17 bands, much can change in winter.
