Hello everybody,
Well, the rumors are true: Harasai is no more.
Some of you might be able to imagine how hard it can be to give up something you've been passionate about to a maximum extent for years, which basically is the reason why we have been quiet about this for so long now. Without going into the most painful details we'd like to give you a little insight to the various factors that led us to this decision.
For reasons everyone should have heard about already playing in a band that releases albums is a tough thing these days, but something you can still do if you're willing to invest a lot of time, love and private resources, both financial and emotional ... and so we did. One thing we have learned about the music business is that your best sometimes is simply not enough. Not that we are mad about this, but it's just like that. By time the business side of things really started to become annoying to us and ruined almost all the joy and emotional benefit you can take from doing this. After 2 album recordings, sharing stage with some of our biggest heroes and countless moments of fun and magic we really think it's better to quit in dignity instead of keeping a dead man alive. Furthermore the constant line-up changes and an overshadowing organisational chaos we always had to deal with made us tired.
We started this band when we were a bunch of kids full of hopes and dreams. All the three key members - Yannick, Nico and me - went through a pretty difficult coming of age-scenario in which we have matured and changed both as individuals and musicians. For some of us Metal is just not the holy grail anymore since music and art offer so much more than just blast beats, gothenburg melodies and shouting vocals. If you have reached this state of mind once, it becomes hard pretending to be something you're not in the conservative world of Metal.
Don't get us wrong! We're proud of everything we have done and achieved and still love the music we have written and played together. Playing together in this band, sharing our music globally, making strong relationships on both a professional and personal level and all the other great things we have experienced throughout the years have enriched our lives and this is something we wouldn't regret for a single moment. This band always was more to us than a stupid thing to distinguish oneself and gave us everything in times of need.
We are more than thankful for all the respect and praises we have got for our work. But for now this chapter of our lives is closed and I guess you'll see and hear some of us in other projects soon. Arne and Nico recently started a new classic rock band, Yannick is still writing high quality stuff at home and for myself I'm taking care of developing my voice and lyrics to a new direction.
It would break the mold to name everyone who has supported the band in the last 9 years. Our close friends and families, without whom nothing of this could have been possible, know who they are. For the rest: thank you so much for everything! Keep rockin' like there's no tomorrow!
By the way ... IF ANYONE IS STILL INTERESTED IN BUYING SOMETHING: please get in touch. I really need to get rid of the merchandise as I'm moving to a smaller room right now. Furthermore I'll take care of all open orders within the next 2 weeks. Due to the closure of the band we have been lazy with sending out the items. A BIG BIG SORRY for this to everyone who is still waiting to get his shirt or cd. You will get lots of bonus stuff!
