Finally finished work for the weekend, WoooOoOo!! :ugly:
6 weeks and 1 day until im in Germany :D!!

So we had plans with friends to go to a beach and grill some food and so on... The weather is bad (raining all the time more or less and less than 15 degrees) and one of my friends is whining about people not being that interested in going today. :uff: I'm not really excited about sitting in the rain for hours.

Ahh we managed to do it a couple times when its like that, if you use 2 umbrellas, one for above the BBQ and one at the side as a wind break you can still manage :D being in Scotland you find ways around the rain on bbq beach days :)

Damn, next week, at this time, it'll almost be over!
I'm so fucking looking forward to HF!

Hahaha i bet :D so lucky!!

Morning.

Shitty weather today but we had a beautiful sunny weekend. I went to the beer festival for the third time, lol. I tried a lot of session IPA (less than 5%) and I have to say that our first IPA that we brewed was better that the majority.

The Nano IPA (2.5%) wsa pretty good. Good aroma, great bitterness and only 2.5%! This is a festival beer for me! :ugly:

Tonight, going to my friend house to bottle 2 or 3 batch if possible. We...need...bottles... :)

I just recieved a special beer, I've never heard of it.
ValDuc, brewed in 1360 Thorenbais-Saint Trond, Belgium.

I have yet to try it, but I prefer my beer cold. So I put it in the fridge. It apears to be an 8% ALC VOL. :)

Nice! What's the type ? Dubbel ?

Sometime, it's better to drink a beer around 10-12c, you know ? :)

Like a Rochefort 8 or 10.. Don't drink that at 4-6c!!! This is no Coors light :)

I know. But for one reason or another, I prefer it cold. (around 6°)
Besides, this one is advised ot drink at6°, if I have to believe the label.

We'll see. It won't be for today. :)

i don't understand why people drink light beer.

(you don't even GET light beer here easily. just in a few shops.)

But yeah, there are different temperatures for different beers.

i always see sandinavians post it on facebook, especially oscar dronjak (he is ahuge coorslight fan), but also americans.
I think it's something very ungerman. why buy beer with no alcohol and nothing in it?

It's got to do with culture.
In NL, you can get "pils" beers. A steady 5% Alc VOL.
And you can find "oud bruin", a light beer, around 2.5% Alc VOL. Bit sweeter, darker as well.
In Belgium you can get "tafelbier / bière de table" (Tischbier?) with a low 2.5% alc VOL as well, they used to givve it to mothers who just gave birth, apparently it increases the milk production.
But on the other hand, BUSH makes beers with 10% Alc VOL, and a La Trappe Quad is also around 10% Alc VOL. in it.

And German pils beers are relatively light, with 4.9% Alc. VOL. (Belgium 5.2% Alc. VOL.)
