I'm always terrified as a passenger in Italy :o I wonder how long it took for my relatives to forget when I screamed 'FUCK' when we were speeding on the highway and got overtaken by someone on a motorbike going like...50km/hr faster than we were.

I've heard about those Italian drivers, I won't be driving there either! Worse than Quebecois...and those fuckers are CRAZY!

It's not because of excellence, it's mostly because of excessive speed I'm talking about. And mostly in Belgium!

But remember, speed tickets here are MORE expensive than in NL or Germany!

50€ plus 10€/ km/h on the highway!
And on some places 100€ plus 10€/kmh.

I like this concept! They should do that here, then maybe some people will speed less. I like the countries that base the speeding tickets on your income so the "richy rich" people can't just speed and pay it because it's not much to them. Can't remember where that is but it's a GREAT idea!

Hopefully nothing too serious in the hospital..I hate hospitals. Is the weather nice for doing something outside or will you be indoors?

yeah the hospital thing isn't something to bad, just some surgery to the bladder, nothing deadly. (well unless some weird infection or something occurs)

the weather isn't very nice, but I'll be in a train, bus and hospital today, so shouldn't be to much of a problem :p

We had our first snow of the year this past weekend but it's not super cold yet. Still hovering around -10c in the morning when I go to work at 5:45. Will get up to about -1c today and more snow expected Wed / Thurs.

That's good then. You shouldn't get too cold. Does it get cold there? I mean REALLY cold like -30c?

Don't worry you weren't the only one! Took us about 15 minutes just to get oriented when we arrived and then I'm walking in the bike lanes because they look like what we have here for pedestrians :o
I had that the first time I was in the US. I thought those side lanes were for bikes. Turned out to be for pedestrians. :p
well it's half one in the afternoon, so I'm first going to visit someone in hospital, and after that I'll go do something with a friend, but no idea yet about what we'll do.

Good luck with that!

For the 2nd part, it'll end up with a beer I reckon.

A 'safe' ride with the cousin I stayed with this year was her getting 'stuck' behind someone doing the speed limit, muttering 'cazzo!' under her breath then driving on the wrong side of the road to get around them. I was always surprised that they bothered to stop at red lights :o

Oh and let's not forget those pedestrian crossings - it's like playing chicken :o
