That's only because of your german loverboy :p

Go for it... :) Altho it will suck not having my personal guide around helsinki...

Well moving somewhere else isn't because of him but yes, place is. What can you do. :D

I would like to wait for a year so my younger kid can end her school before but if I would happen to find a job from Germany then it would be smart for me to move earlier. :)

You can stay for 3 months, and then have to leave for ONE day. (Denmark is good enough)
Once you have a working contract, you'll have a "Wohngenähmigung". Valid for 5 years, and renewable every 5 years. (German ID for foreighners)

And then you're kindly asked to learn German and Germany but since you're a EU citizen, they cannot oblige you to do so.

But the thing with ONE day is true. Been there, done that.

Actually I don't even need a job, just a proof that I get or have enough money to live there without social welfare. Also prrof of healthcare might be needed but I would have finnish one for a year as long as I don't work.

But I'd not go to any other villages near Heide. I need my train station too hard in order to move around.

How would they know if you've been out of the country or not?

I'd go to heide as well, for the rest I'd need a car. which I don't have.

Within those 3 months yeah. For a permanent stay however you have to prove a contract, amoungst other things.

They can't, unless you have a passport check at the border. (and a passport, not an ID)

But you cannot go on the day your immatriculation is expired. There has to be a day in between. And that, they can see. (they presume you left after the date of expire)

Ex: I apply for a stay in Germany. I enter on August 21, meaning, my permt expires on November 20. I cannot demand a new one on Nov. 21, but on Nov 22.

I don't have to have a job even after 3 months but I have to be able to support myself somehow and show a valid reason for my stay. For 3 months stay all I need is address and then let them know where I am staying. I know some people who did this (not all had a job) and that's all they had to do.

I know from experience I couldn't resign my address in the Netherlands, unless I had a parmanent stay in Belgium. (within those 3 months)
If I did resign, I'd loose my health insurance, my disabillity money (NL), my unemployment etc. And I bought a house in BE.

In Finland you will have your health care for a year no matter where you live (at least in EU countries) unless you are working full time in some other country. Unemployment money you can get for 3 months no matter where you live (at least in EU) but after that nothing so you have to have some other way to support yourself after that. So I guess it is bit easier for us than it was for you. :)

Oh and in Finland you don't really have to have permanent address and still you have free health care and you can get unemployment money.
