When I was working a shift job we'd only get a 30 minute lunch break if we worked more than 5.5 hours. "10 minute breaks" were considered getting a cup of water or going to the loo. We also worked for peanuts.

*eye twitches*

We had shifts, 30min. break and 2x 15min breaks to drink, smoke etc.
Loo is at any time. (note: this was in NL, not in BE!)

I only worked after school and saturdays so I didn't really get lunch breaks except during my vacations. But I was just 17 so I didn't care at all

Like I said, differs per country.

And the EU isn't the USE yet. (United States of Europe) so it'll take a while before working laws are harmonised within the EU.

But I'm glad I can get a smoking break when I want to.

Not sure those laws will ever be the same in whole Europe and actually, are they the same in whole USA either because they have state laws too. Whatever. I just want to have a job somewhere, breaks or not

But we'll see.
I'm glad I know how it works in BE (and in NL) and that's enough for now.

Probably. Just so long as I don't open the bag I can keep myself from eating any. I have a couple of bars of plain dark chocolate (70% cocoa), a bar of dark chocolate with toffee and a bag of fruit and nut chocolates.
