That's how it goes here for "regular" jobs. Hourly positions are different.
When I was working a shift job we'd only get a 30 minute lunch break if we worked more than 5.5 hours. "10 minute breaks" were considered getting a cup of water or going to the loo. We also worked for peanuts.

But at least we do have breaks. When I was working a shift job we'd only get a 30 minute lunch break if we worked more than 5.5 hours. "10 minute breaks" were considered getting a cup of water or going to the loo. We also worked for peanuts.

Morning

Well, I don't know if you want that.I wish I could do that.
And I do get paid for my other breaks - one or two 15min breaks depending on how long I'm there.
Here it is 7,5 hours of work and half an hour lunch break so total 8 hours and lunch iosn't paid time really so if you skip lumch you might have to work just that 7,5 hours but usually you aren't allowef to skip it (stupid)![]()
It's something like that here too. I'm so old that I don't even remember clearly how many hours I had to work to get a lunch break but must have been about the same as for you![]()

Well, I don't know if you want that.
8hrs work. (without break)+2hrs (break) = 10hrs at work!
Add the time it takes you to get to and from work with it, and you're quickly on 12hrs. Which leaves little time to relax, etc. So... I prefer ½hr break.
The working week differs per country. It's 38hrs/week here. So if I do 4x 7.45hrs + 7hrs I'll get there too. But we can't skip break. The law here doesn't allow that.
