I think she's actually probably worse off... she's going to get a reality check when she steps into the real world. She's the kind that goes to the bathroom with a group, I'm the kind that did group projects alone when I could because I didn't want other people to screw up my grade. Just more independant in general, thus why I don't mind going to Europe partially alone.

Yea... I also have to hope there wasn't any favoritism from my parents with her. Like I had my old phone for over three years when she had at least three or four new phones [we got ours at about the same time]. So when I finally asked for a new phone I couldn't have one because she used up all my upgrades. Luckily my parents figured out something so I could get my new one, but still...

I'm grateful that my daughter is independent and though she is good at making friends, she's not afraid of losing friends if it means by doing what is right. In other words she does not follow others to be liked.

Yea, at least just to see how he does it.

He seems less strict on music than I am, which surprised me since I thought I'm too loose. Like he said he likes CoF though he agrees with me that the lyrics aren't so great.

Yeah it's not easy for parents to keep things balanced between their kids. But is important that they try to keep things equal and fair.

Yea... I mean we're different and so we should be treated differently, but not necessarily unequally.

Though in general I'm grateful to my parents. My dad especially, since not too many dads are so willing to let a girl fresh out of high school travel to Europe for a month mostly alone. Especially with him knowing I'd be around loads of beer, drunks, and that sort of thing.

Yeah she has learned that. When she was much younger she put up with bad treatment from some of her friends. I was concerned about that, but now if they give her shit, she pretty much tells them to f@#k off (not in those words but you know what I mean)

Some people aren't so lucky... like a friend of mine about my age has insanely strict parents. She has to sneak out or lie just to get out of the house sometimes, has to ask permission to stay out past 11pm, etc... it's crazy.

With me, I can be out till 2-3am and my parents won't even know unless I tell them the next day.
