I once ended up in Atlanta for 3hrs driving around because I missed the turn back onto the interstate and never found anywhere where I could turn around

its the same here .. its all big highways and if u miss an exit u have to drive a long way to find another or turn around ..

same here... at Wacken we were looking for the forum camp, I was the only one out of me and some others who had been there already, we were walking around for awhile till we found it and they got mad at me

The forum camp is kinda far from the main festival area. We were the first ones to set up a tent there in 2008. It was cold and rainy that morning. but the route to the main festival area was quite simple once you figured it out.

We even asked security where it "camp site R" was and they pointed us in the wrong direction. But we found it anyway

Yeah it's cool, not as wild as some other areas. Better if you actually want to sleep. But as I said, it's kinda far, about a 20 minute walk to the main festival area. I'd gladly camp there again.

me & my group camped in area (R) it was too far from the fest area .. and i kept getting lost .. every where u look are tents & Metalheads .. so no wonder we get lost

yea there is... it's far though as Adam said. I got a good spot on C, which is good because I don't want to walk a lot between tent and stage probably going to keep trying to get spots close to the stage, rather than forum camp, though I should have visited there more often [but was too afraid of getting lost ]

Area R? That was what the forum camp was in 2008. Maybe they moved it in 2009. The simple route was to walk straight down the main walkway, then turn right at the next main walkway and just follow that to the festival grounds.
