normally I would say not accept, but forgive it. I know how thankful I was, after I screwed up with my friend that days and she gave me another chance.
yea, I can see that... of course giving another chance makes you more vulnerable and probably the relation to him/her will be kinda screwed. But he/her might be truly sorry and willing to improve his/her behaviour.
