You cannot expect that you play 11 against 12 (adversaries more the referee) and is gained. If we deserved to exit from the cup, I was the first one that would have beats them to you to words.
Creeds indeed that the Germany you play well therefore?
Not to deceive to you, if they repeat the last game exit!!

this time the referee did not make any decisive calls against Italy! in other games with Italy there were questionable decisions by the referees done, no questin about that! very obvious...
but this time I didn't see any seriously bad ones! the red card was absolutely ok, hard but ok! the Italian just should have acted less.. this way it looked like he just really wanted the penalty and nothing more. so that's a yellow card because it really wasn't a foul!
about the other "regular goal cancelled"... ok, it was no offsides... but hey, all the other players quit playing right after the call. that Italian dude played on and suddenly was all alone in front of the opponent's goal - what a surprise! I'm sure that the Korean keeper would have had the ball if he kept on playing. that way the Italian wouldn't have even gotten the chance to score!

and, you must admit, Italy had the best chances to win the game after the 1:0!!! they could have played like they did during the first couple of minutes, score a second goal.. and everything would have been allright! this way they were just standing there and watching the others play... even though Korea didn't really have one single chance... but that just proves that they are a team that should be beaten by a team like Italy easily!

so don't blame the referee! blame Trapatoni for such a crappy tactic and blame the Italian players because they refused to keep on playing good soccer after the 1:0!!!

I think the referee did a great job in Italy against South Korea

The penalty was a right decision. 2 Korean players were hold by Italian. a 100% free kick--> in penalty area-->penalty. It's only a pity that the Korean aren't real Killers(But maybe it's because they have a Dutch coach)
about the second yellow card, I agree with Lord Horb.
I can't remember a pure goal cancelled. But I do remember a doubtful outside situation. But I know it was very close. The game is very fast. It's a matter of nanoseconds when the Italian players were outside or not. It's hard for the second umpires to see that. If what Lord Horb says was true. they are complaining about nothing.
ok, in the pools the referees made some mistakes. but Italy made it to the second round. So they don't have to complain about it. In this game it's not the fault of the referee that Italy has lost. it is the fault of Italy itself. They refused to score more goals. To play football and win the match. I'm sorry for you Metalcorner, but that is the truth (according to me)

About the referees in general, they have a hard job. If a football player messed up 9 times and has one good moment, he is a terrific player, a hero.
If a referee made 9 good decisions and one mistake, he immediatly is a bad referee. Many people don't see that.

About Korea. I still think Korea has the best team of this worldcup. A very good team, physical very strong and real fighters and they really are a team. If they don't become reckless and stay concentrated they really make a chance to go to the final.
Individual i think Brazil has the best players.

Where were the two direct red cards from aggressive foul on the italian players?!?!
Oh well.. i've been complaining about the referees since the opening match...

As for any, these two countries are Germany (Im sorry germans!) and USA (Im sorry americans!)

I dont have any sympathy for USA's sports teams, except when it comes down to Basketball. The least thing I wanna hear from a american is that they have the best soccer team.

As for Germany, I have two reasons:

1 - I dont want any other team to win four WCs until brazil win its fifth!

2 - I'll be in Berlin in the end of the WC. It will be really annoying for me to see hordes of drunk germans partying their fourth title. If its their destiny to win this WC, I hope its not against Brazil cause I have a brazilian flag in the knapsack that Im always carrying, and I'm sure that a lot of germans will make fun of me...heheheh.





It would be pretty cool if Korea or Senegal wins this WC...

Issue of points of view.
Even if we won yesterday, would not have allowed us to arrive in final.
Therefore i am content that we are defeated yesterday rather than in the quarters or semi final.

Point one I can understand. With our second and third places we would be number one. As much as I want to see my country there, you prefer Brasil to stay there.
But the second point I don´t understand. Noone in Germany makes jokes on brasilian football, if they are champions or not.
If not my team, I also want Senegal to win.

This is a worldcup2002 thread and I like to watch football. I give my opinion about it because I like to discuss about it. I think my opinion is even better because I am more objective than you are.
Is it really that hard for you to understand that is doesn't matter where anyone is come from to give a opinion about it?

And it's not about the place Perugia. Even if he played in Milan or Rome it doesn't matter. It's about the fact that he is fired because he scored that goal against Italy. I think that it is absolutely ridiculous.
What if an Italian player plays for, let's say Real Madrid. That player makes on a worldcup the winning goal against Spain. After that Real Madrid fires him because he makes that goal against Spain. That would absolutely make no sense!!!!!
If you play for your club, you play for your club.That is your job. But playing for your country is in my opinion more important than the club and it has really nothing to do with the club.
