I've only ever tried one bottled mead and it was as sweet as honey, but without the thickness.

I Wacken mead was fine - even less sweet with the cherry juice :p

man, I'm just salivating thinking about it :D

hmm, cherry juice might have been good! :) the Wacken mead was clearly a "rushed" mead...you don't get rid of the extra sweetness until you let it age for at least a year or two. That's the only problem with mead - it takes FOREVER to age properly. Most bottled meads have been aging for ten years or more...sheesh!
