What'll a bear set me back?

Never been to Wacken. Never been to Germany.

I'm trying to get an idea of how much money to bring with me, but I've no idea what anything's gonna cost. So the big question is, how much is a beer gonna set me back?

At the festival: €3 (plus €1 deposit) for .4 liters!
In the shops: Don't know, but €6 deposit on cans (per 24 of course) A can is prob. 80 cents, but can be more/less.

Edit Piaf zegt: At the camping I paid €20 for 20 bottles of Wacken beer (= Becks)

That's pretty expensive beer! Always is at festivals I suppose.

How far are the shops from the festival site & do they let you take your own beer into the arena?

In the camping = no problem.

Festival area = a BIG NO! (but if you have a Wacken mug, you can always poor your own beer into it.)

Ça va. Like 5 to 15 minutes on foot.

It's a good idea to bring a luggage wheelie or something if you want to save money by buying beer at the village. It's about a kilometer walk (depending on your camp site) and cases of beer get heavy quick (especially in the sun).

Or just start drinking on the way back to the tent. Makes things easier as well.
