hahah :D they are actually the rarest of our natives to see in the wild as they live on river beds.

One camp I went to some silly boys laid yabby traps near a nest (they didn't realise) and it got caught in the net trying to get the bait and died :(

Everyone in the camp was really sad because of the strongest and most heartfelt decrees of a scout is to protect nature...

My father saw it and told me, I'm so glad I didn't see it.

Argh, stupid kids indeed...I hope an army of vengeful platypi devoured them in the night as they slept! :mad:

Did you know that monotrens (the family where platypus and echidna belong too) were the first animals to dream? Yes, reptiles, birds and all the others don't have REM-sleep, it came into the world with the ancestors of the duck-billed platypus.

Strange that creatures who look so much like out of dreams were the once who brought dreams to earth.

All of this leading to my hypothesis that such anomalies of nature as can be found on the Australian continent are actually of extraterrestial origin. :D
