actually the fact that Manowar is not coming sounds like a good news to me.
on the other hand, I hope the orga did expect them to be a top headliner, so that they realize how lame this year's line-up is.

the lineup is a joke,

theres several 'salvageable parts' of it, but its wacken and it should be perfect.

In my opinion, there are 5 names who any of which being announced would sort everything and stop the forum bitching *hopes the wacken runners see this*.

Black stage, and true stage, ideally you need 2 of those bands , but you don't want a repeat of '07 (even though it fucking ruled)
BG are probs the most likely, but theyre playing bloodstock, im really hoping that fridays announcement is rhapsody, i mean, rhapsody are half broken up at the moment anyway due to that magic circle shit, if this was their 'last gig ever' where better to do it than wacken.

Just hoping all this bullshit is to sort out whos loyal to wacken and who doesnt sell their tickets so when we get there, they treat us with some secret headliners or something.

Another disappointed Wacken - addict...

I must say (and I'm sorry I have to, I have a fucking W.O.A-room at home and was there for the last 8 years) that I'm so very close to selling my ticket and I'm not the only one here... This year's bill is really disappointing, so far I see very few reasons to make the 800km trip. Running Wild ????? Are you serious ??? Do they have any fans outside of Germany? And in Germany ? I don't remember seeing many Running Wild t-shirts at Wacken ! Where's Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon, Dark Funeral, Nile, Bloodbath, Watain or even fuckin' Slayer? I've never seen such a poor festival line-up and I really, really hope that the best is yet to come so I can start looking forward to the best 3 days of the year. If not last year might have been the last time I came to this fine place... Don't let us down Wacken, grtz from Belgium

Even though the lineup is lacking extreme metal, i'm still going to go, around 15 to 20 decent bands would please me overall. The rest of my festival time is spent catching up with old friends and generally having a laugh. To anyone thinking of selling the ticket, and opting for Hellfest...not to slag the place off but a friend of mine attended last years, and well let's just say it 'doesn't hold a candle' to the way wacken is ran, even though the lineup is better.

This whole running wild business just seems to have pissed off some extreme metal fans, who were hoping for something a little bit, dare I say different. I'm not a fan, but I've still got faith that they will get some amazing bands, we just have to wait it out...unfortunately
