Just realized I hadn't posted about this yet.

I spilled something on my laptop on Sunday. The screen flickered... and it died. :( So I performed emergency surgery immediately. Managed to get it opened up, but didn't see where anything had gotten wet. So I left it open and it's been drying.

Going to have my dad look at it today and see if we can spot where it might have shorted. It was a sugary drink, which is apparently bad. :( So we're going to hopefully find where it went so we can get the sugar out.

I'm going to hate myself if it doesn't turn back on. :( I loved that laptop. It was perfect.

Don't give a crap if I lose data. I backed up everything important. I just don't want to have to replace the laptop. :(

Happen to my friend where he spilled, over the time, 2 beers and one glass of wine. After the wine, the laptop didn'T want to start. I opened the laptop, clean any traces of dark red spot and I resurrected it! :) His power on led won't stay on unless we push the plastic around it to make it lit, so not a big deal at all.

You could use distilled water to wash the sugary parts and hope for the best.

Good luck

Yea, I'm going to try that before I even attempt to turn it on. I got all the screws off, but there are some other parts that need to be disconnected before I can really get into it. That's where I hope my dad will be able to help. He's better with computer hardware than I am.
