Ditto here...my friends in high school were all in love with her. I always thought she was cute and pretty, but kinda dull. She was too demure...wasn't the brash loudmouth type I was into back then...and am still now.

And that coming out of a country that gave us Louise Brooks, Clara Bow, Joan Crawford, Tallulah Bankhead, Rita Hayworth and Marylin Monroe...it's so fucking sad.

I actually knew a guy who said he was gonna wait 'til marriage, becuase his logic was...if you only have sex with one girl your whole life, than you think that's the best it is, and you'll never be wishing for something better that another girlfriend used to do.
Bullshit...I'm all about trying new experiences. Life is short, right?

Three years ago I had a phase where I watched only american classics from the golden times for a few months - since then I really despise what Hollywood thinks are "desirable women" nowadays. Clara Bow is unbelievably good in "Wings", endlessly desirable in "Mantrap", but I think I love her most in Lubitschs "The Plastc Age".
But the coolest of them all must have been Tallulah Bankhead. When asked in an interview what her definition of love was, she replied "You mean fucking?" That was in the thirties.
She also once said at a wedding: "I've slept with both the bride and her husband, and believe, they're both not good."
It's ashame she didn't do much movies (She was mostly on theater stages), she was incredibly funny and sey.
