Better than those gay At The Gates metalcore tribute bands, I guess.

at the gates isnt metalcore.. u guys really should stop labbelling everything metalcore..
in flames isnt metalcore.. sonic syndicate isnt metalcore..
people confuse so much new wave of swedish death metal with metalcore..
i now is similar but it is 2 different kinds of metal

I know that At The Gates isn't metalcore. I was talking about the metalcore tribute bands which have ripped off their sound, particularly The Black Dahlia Murder.

And yes, I know In Flames isn't metalcore. It might be whiny American influenced trash now, but that doesn't make it metalcore.

Anyone who has half a fuckin' clue about metal knows the difference between Swedish Death Metal and metalcore. Even the melo-death stuff is infinitely more respectable. I'd take Bloodbath any day over the melodic bands, though.

Almost but not quite. It was Jeff Beccara of Possessed on vocals, but the rest were from Sadistic Intent. It should have been billed as Jeff Beccara and Sadistic Intent covering Possessed songs. I saw Atilla and 1349 play Freezing Moon once, but that didn't fucking make them Mayhem.

Anyway, back to Carcass. None of the Carcass members have done anything of worth since Heartwork. If I was convinced that they still had the heart of gore filled death metal, then I might be more enthusiastic. But I think that Jeff Walker just wants to play a festival, and that Amott wants people to remember that he once wrote respectable music.

All that said, I still might go and see Carcass if they're at a festival I'm going to if there's no one else on at the time.

Anyway, I guess I shouldn't complain that Wacken has booked a band which once wrote proper death metal. More of that please.
so i take it you dont like arch enemys music?

hey whos complainin as long as they play the classics, im goin to hear them play their good music not to stare at them and judge what music they have written recently, one good album doesnt make you brilliant in the long run but a good album has more than enough material to put on a good live show
