No-smoking area

I'm wondering whether there is no smoking area during the festival. I went to an open air yesterday and I'm suffering so much from the smell of smoke. People are not doing pogo or jumping. They just stand there and smoke one after one... Any possibility of a no-smoking area?

I can assure you, that in Wacken there will be few ppl WHO smoke and nearly none who Just stand and smoke at the concerts

As a smoker myself I have a different opinion. Yes in general, the number of smokers decline from year to year but especially at rock/metal events there are still a lot. More the in other genres I'd say.

And also at Wacken I notice a lot of smokers beside me.

I guess it also depends on your personal perception

Seems Like a confirmation bias.
I would say since i am a Nichtraucher, that my perception for being in the presence of smoke(ers) is highned because Smoking ist Not my Thing. And yes on the campdground there are smokers, but in the infield nearly none
