there's an actual difference, but I forget what it is now.
anyway, "farther" sounds like a bigger, more important word than "further", so you would use "farther" to describe a long distance...
for example:
"Itzehoe is close to Wacken, but Hamburg is much farther away"
instead of
"I know she was a virgin, but she said she wanted to go a little further."![]()
