It regularly tops 100 F (er... 100 - 32 = 68, 68 / 1.8 = 37.8 C) during July and August here. About as bad as Florida, but none of the beaches or palm trees here, haha.

yeah, in order to save up for Wacken last year, I had to work a landscaping job for the local city govt, cutting grass and trees along the highways...all in 95-100 F heat. Fucking miserable work, but good money.

Well, it got me enough money in 2 months to pay for Wacken and even school the next semester, so I guess it was worth it! I was a lot smarter this year...been saving up my money for longer.

For me, it is a *lot*. But it's worth every penny. To meet so many friendly metalheads at the greatest festival in the world? That's a priceless experience! And I have two friends coming with me this year...I may be insane, but at least I'm not alone.

Though I won't complain...because as soon as I do...Brat will remind me that her plane ticket alone is more than my entire Wacken budget!

Good, I absolutely agree! You're right - Metal music is supposed to be fun, exciting, and powerful. It's supposed to be enjoyed!

I've just known too many people who only listen to metal because they're angry and bitter people by nature and they want to listen to music that sounds angry and bitter. And they don't really enjoy the music, it's just an emotional release for them. LIke they only listen to Slayer when they're pissed off. That's a pretty empty, stupid reason for being a metalhead, I think.

You´re absolutely right!!!

We often have this problem with the "black metal" fans. Always look depressed or evil and bad. All other music except of black metal (even other metal) sucks. Strange people....

hehehehe, we have the exact same people over here! The funniest ones are the black metal kids who think that everyone in Norway wears corpse paint and walks around the forests with spiked gauntlets burning churches and praying to Satan and Odin (at the same time). I'm sure Rock'n'Roll does this.
