I used to have a 1984 Chevy Celebrity station wagon. Navy blue. I miss that car. It always ran great. You'd never see another one exactly like it, because all the other '84 Celebrity broke a long time ago. :D But mine kept going and going...until I accidentally let it roll down a hill. :o :(

i still have it in storage. I'm going to fix it when I can afford to. But for now, I have to save money for Wacken.

i've got a 2000 Chevy Blazer now. it's a nice car, but not as much fun as my old "shaggin' wagon".

as for French cars...I don't think they sell any anymore over here. You see a few Renaults and Peugeots around, but they're all old.

You've got some Fords that I've never seen here. We've got the Escort (it was discontinued two or three years ago when they introduced the Focus). The Mondeo doesn't exist in the US. Must be Brit-only.

Also - some of the Vauxhall models I saw were exact copies of Chevy cars here...of course, with the steering wheel on the opposite side. I forget which, though.

Both the Ford and Vauxhall/Opel Models were different in Europe compared to the US Models - the US Escort was different to the European version - the European Models tended to be scaled down versions of the US counterparts.

Probably with smaller engines for better gas mileage, among other things. Also, I noticed in London - automatic transmissions seem to be rarer than painted DeLoreans! Not that that's a bad thing, I like manual better anyway. :D

Certainly a key feature - petrol's somewhat more expensive in Europe than in the US and I certainly prefer manual ;)
