Don´t waste a single thought about comming to Wacken on your own. This is the most intensiv way of discovering the spirit of a festival. I was in Derby, England last year at the Bloodstock- Festival and I met a lot of metalheads from all over Europe. It was a great experience.

As there are a lot of German's here, I have a question...

Are there any shops in Hamburg/Köln/München that specialise in stuff with family crests? My German last name has a crest and I'd really like to buy something for my father with the crest.

We have shops like that in Australia but they only have Scottish and Irish names.

Is anyone here good with German history/geography? I can't find Bade on my detailed map of Germany? It could be an old city that no longer exists...

just had a look- I can´t find a city called Bade, too. But your father´s name is Bade? I´ve got a friend, her last name is also Bade, I´ll ask her if she knows anything about.... I´ll let you know if I find out anything!

Yes! I'll be in W.O.A.! Yesterday I phoned a guy in Barcelona who has organized a trip from there to Wacken and he still has a seat in the bus for me!! You all, remember well my face, I'd love to meet you all!!


About my experiment....well....I'll study harder your language to post something more logical. If Bayern Leverkusen wins the champions League I'll post there a congratulation to every football supporter (that's not my case, I hate football, but I don't want any Spanish team to win anything)

I'll be back on Monday, I'm going to a rock festival in Albacete (Spain) this weekend, with Ratos de Porao!!!

If you like Samael then you should listen to Alastis, they also rule!. I don't know if they are from Switzerland, but one of their members is cousin or brother of someone from Samael!!

no our last name is Stengel...

but the history of the last name originates in an old city/town of Bade and a man called Stengel became a baron in the 17th century (if my memory is correct).

But maybe if your friend's last name is Bade, she or her parents will know where it came from. Thanks xpet!

The crest is of a lion wearing a crown and holding a club.

I got all this information from a book in a library. It is a very old book that is still written in Norman, not modern French. It was a bit tricky to translate but I got most of it.
