I mean, at least we got nuclear power and the UN from WW2, not to mention we finally got it into our thick heads that slaughtering eachother maybe isn't too good an idea.

If you want to see the pointless slaughter go to Ieper (Flanders, Belgium), Verdun (France) and the Somme region (Bapaume - Albert, france near Lille). There you'll see endless rows of crosses...

Well, Iraqs oil supplies would be nice, especially now that Saudi-Arabia is becoming an unreliable partner. Never forget that this is the region where father and son Bush made their fortunes - I think that there is a strong emotional component there, too.
