Getting To Wacken from Bremen?

Hey guys,

The flights from Ireland to Hamburg are mucho expensivo at the minute, I could get flights much cheaper to Bremen - Is it tricky to get from Bremen to Wacken? Are there straight forward enough trains/buses I could get, or would it be very expensive to get a taxi straight to Wacken?

This would be my first time going to Wacken from Bremen so I really have no idea, any info or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'm from Bremen, and for your information: the train goes straight to Hamburg (Niedersachsenticket will cost you 16,- Euros if you travel alone, or 24,- I think for a group ticket of up to 5 people which can share that price), from there on you have to buy a ticket to Itzehoe (dunno the exact price). OR you buy a ticket from Bremen-Itzehoe directly (for yerself only).

Time's about 1:20 to HH and 30 mins. to Itzehoe from HH. Plus the shuttlebus (ca. 30 mins)....

Concerning flights I don't have any info, I don't like to fly!


Maybe we'll meet at the Forum camp and have a drink or two!

Well hey there Lord Soth!

Wow that's brilliant, that ticket for €24 for 5 people would be fantastic! Much cheaper than I had anticpated in fact! I have my flights sorted - Fly out to Bremen with Ryanair on Aug 1st, and back again on the 8th, got the return flights for about €80 - compared to €280 to fly to Hamburg!!

I defintely have to buy you a drink or two whilst I'm over there too!!

Seeing as we're not flying back to Ireland again til the 8th, where would you recommend staying? I stayed over in Hamburg for a few days after Wacken last yr, thinking maybe I should spend a few days in Bremen this year?
