On your Lefhand side in the Navigation Bar you've got the Point
News if you scroll down a bit you'll find a Site Map
and Geländeplan so you can get a general idea of the Site.
Take your sleeping bad and tent with you...some clothes for changing.. some food which will not start talking to you after a few days in the hot weather&sun....
Wacken is generally very very peacefull....
So security is not really necesarry..there are even Police Patrols which are friendly..never had Problems with them ...talked to some and they have been coming for years...as one claimed he'd rather do duty evey year in Wacken than to go to one Soccer Match....

Anyway tough shoes aren't a bad idea...
