Darkthrone - yes or no?

Ok, first of all, I know that they almost definitely aren't gonna be playing. On the Darkthrone forum though there seems to be a lot of debate over whether or not they should play a live gig or not. The arguments seem to be one of the following:

1. They SHOULD play because they're great and it would be an amazing gig

2. They SHOULD NOT play because it would destroy the mistique surrounding them - they've only played live once before

3. Don't mind one way or the other

What does everyone else think? Or doesn't anybody care? Personally I'd love for them to play, although I'd be a little bit scared, what with the right-wing activists and all that

Just curious is all.

#2 is really stupid. A valid argument, though, is that it would probably be a rather boring show. Great music, sure, but I don't see them as performers.

No, it's stupid. They shouldn't make any more albums either, then, since that deflates the true evil power of the earlier records.

I never looked at it like that before, but I think you're right - their music isn't especially suited to live performances. But if they played I know that I'd definitely be at the front anyway

Prevailing logic dictates that the only bands who are good live are those who play live regularly. Practice makes perfect.

Still...Darkthrone live would be fuckin' killer!
