Cycling to Wacken Open Air 2025 / Mit dem Fahrrad zum Wacken Open Air 2025

Hello! Is anyone here cycling to Wacken? I will be traveling to W:O:A by bicycle for the first time, departing from Amsterdam on July 17th, 2025, with plans to arrive at the Wacken campground on Sunday, July 27th. I would like to connect with other cyclists who will also be traveling to Wacken by bicycle.

If you're planning a similar journey or have experience cycling to the festival, I'd love to hear from you! We could potentially coordinate parts of the route together or simply share tips and experiences about the journey. The ride from Amsterdam to Wacken is approximately 500 km, and I'm looking forward to this adventure before enjoying the festival.

Hallo! Fährt hier jemand mit dem Fahrrad zum Wacken? Ich werde zum ersten Mal mit dem Fahrrad zum W:O:A fahren und breche am 17.07.2025 von Amsterdam auf, um am Sonntag, den 27.07., auf dem Campingplatz in Wacken anzukommen. Ich würde gerne mit anderen Radfahrern in Kontakt treten, die ebenfalls mit dem Fahrrad nach Wacken reisen werden.

Wenn du eine ähnliche Reise planst oder Erfahrung mit dem Radfahren zum Festival hast, würde ich mich freuen, von dir zu hören! Wir könnten möglicherweise Teile der Route gemeinsam koordinieren oder einfach Tipps und Erfahrungen über die Reise austauschen. Die Fahrt von Amsterdam nach Wacken beträgt ungefähr 500 km, und ich freue mich auf dieses Abenteuer, bevor ich das Festival genieße.

Maybe it'd be easier to indicate how you'll be riding? I mean, through Almere, Zwolle, Groningen, Bremen, Hamburg, or through Amersfoort, Apeldoorn, Deventer, Hengelo, Osnabrück, Hamburg?
Or you're of the very sportive like, and go through, Utrecht, Arnhem, Oberhausen, Essen, Münster (Westf), Osnabrück... ?

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough before. I'm actually leaving from São Paulo, Brazil, and my plan is to land in Amsterdam.

From there, I realized that cycling the North Sea Cycle Route (NSCR) in the Netherlands could be really interesting, especially because of the favorable winds at this time of year that I've heard about.

After that, I'm heading towards Wacken, and it would be really helpful to know about accommodation options there specifically for cyclists, as well as any other recommendations for someone arriving by bike.

Wow, that's really surprising to hear! A crowdfunding guy who cycled all the way to Wacken and then on to another festival? That's quite an adventure!

I'm planning this trip on a modest budget, and my intention is actually to do some photojournalism of the journey and the festival itself. I've already reached out to the Wacken press department to ask about the documents I need to get accredited as a photojournalist.

After that he wanted to cycle back to London to a festival, as I remember it. The accreditation process is not that easy... but if you pass it we might say hello
to eachother in the pit

Schiphol is actually Haarlemmermeer. Not Amsterdam. Hence the name.

Thanks for the details on the "Guy last year"! That's really inspiring, and I'm excited to see his photos and content on Facebook. Cycling to Wacken and then on to another festival is seriously impressive.

I'm aware the accreditation process is quite difficult, but I'm hoping for the best. If I'm successful, it would be great to connect and say hi in the pit!
