From what I remember of the size of the self-cooling crate and your car, respectively, I'd say we should rather bring our luggage. :)

Still not too keen on digging trenches where people walk. I fell into two different ones myself two years ago. Ah, well, at least the beer is cold when you wake up (better clarify that: in the morning). I'll bring a pail anyway, in case there's a water supply somewhere in the vicinity. Ein Eimer.

One day, someone will start selling bags of ice at festivals and make a fortune...

just store your drinks under the car during the night. At least they will be cooler than if they were just lying around in the tent... :D
