Hi there - I've just registered and this is my first post. Apologies if I bugger anything up but my German is scheissenhausen, as Rex would say.

Anyway, how many other Aussies are lobbing at Wacken?????

Also, are any Aussies going to the Metal Bash Festival in Hamburg the week before, or will I be there to fly the flag on me lonesome?????

hey, welcome here! :D

No clue if any Aussies will be at Metal Bash, but as usual a lot of the Hamburg people will be there - me for example and some other guys who are posting here or in the German forum. If you want we can meet there :D

btw, here´s the (German) thread about Metal Bash:

i think theres some special offer at the duty free... two "pounders" (1150ml?) for bout 35 bucks... at least brisbane had that offer... really beats the price you pay for a single 750ml (30bucks) unfortunately when i left aussie didnt have engough money :(

This leads us into some interesting questions :)

This year will be my first time going to Wacken, but some of you folks seem to have some experience, so I hope you got some answers ;)

First: What does the beer cost in the supermarket in the festival area, and is it much cheaper to buy it in the village of Wacken (what does it cost there then?)

Do they sell anything but beer? Well, beer is nice, but my problem is that i think beer tastes like pee when not cooled enough, and I WILL have a problem keeping my beer cool in august, yes ;) SO, do they sell cider, alcoholic mixes (like bacardi breezer, smirnoff ice and so on), and do you happen to know the cost? :p

And to end this lot of babbling: People are talking about mead all the time here at the board, I've been drinking that some times at a sort of medievalinspired bar here i Stockholm (Sweden) and it tastes very nice, and you gets very drunk, so, what does it cost? ;)

Come'on ppl, you know the answers.. ;) (Maybe..)

I've only bought coke at the metal supermarket but I didn't care what the price was - the crowds in the village supermarket were enough to keep me far away considering the heat and lack of airconditioning :D (we're spoilt in Australia during summer :p )

The mead...ugghh.. can't remember...was it Euro 3.50 for about 350 ml?!?!!?

The mead cups were smaller than the beer cups.

AND the Biergarten had awesome super huge Wacken Steins :D

Fingon, you are from Sweden, so why are you worrying about alcohol prices in Germany? It will be cheap enough for you anyway :p

I´ve no clue what kind of drinks they are selling at the festival area, but I could well imagine that its not only beer :) Guess I´ve seen at least wine in there.
