ok, just one simple, but basic lesson for all the people out there trying to learn german ( I guess Ap knows already, anyways
In german language every word has a gender. The gender can't be seen "in" the word, but it needs to be defined by the article in front of it.
The genders that exist are male, female and neutral. The according articles to it are "der" (male)/"die" (female)/"das" (neutral). They all equal "the".
example:
Der Mann (the man)
Die Frau (the woman)
Das Kind (the child)
Some important information is, that you can't cognise the gender of a word by the word itself. There is no rule for that. The gender of a word has to be learned with the word itself as part of the vocabulary!
Eine Frage.
"Die (Plural)"
in dem folgenden Satz:
"Schade um die schönen Rosen" (Quelle: EoC - Die Schönen Rosen)
Gehort das "N" am Ende der Adjektiv? Ich dachte es wäre ohne "N".
Danke.
Question. (The phrase is taken from a song, by Element of Crime, maybe not known by all of you)
"Die (plural)"
in the following phrase/sentence:
"Schade um die schönen Rosen" (Quelle: EoC - Die Schönen Rosen)
Does the "n" there belong at the adjective, or should it be left out? I always thought it was without the "n".
natürlich gehört das "n" daran. Du musst das adjectiv mit dem zugehörigen Nomen deklinieren
of course the "n" in the end is right. You need to decline the adjective together with the noun that it is according to
