it's tollerated if it's less then 5 grams... and they can always take it from you (the cops).
but even when you have a small amount of cocain, xtc or speed they can let you go... maybe they will fine you if it's in a disco or pub...

By train probably, unless there would be a better arrangement, which I doubt. How long are you going to stay in Amsterdam?

Not long, maybe a day or two. It's still undecided. Train does seem like the transit of choice, at least in terms of price / scenery!
After Amsterdam, I'll be heading for Eindhoven (to see family).

I didn't know that.
I've spent a lot more time in Toronto (where I used to live) than Holland (where I visit), but I've seen a lot more people walking down the street smoking pot here in Canada than I've ever seen in Holland. (Though perhaps things are a bit different in Eindhoven vs. Amsterdam?)
