well, this took an interesting turn...

I think Roger and Me, Michael Moore's first film, was a genuine and really fucking funny movie. It was just sarcastic enough that it didn't come off as bitter, and everyone loves to see a big corporation like General Motors get humiliated (unless they're in your stock portfolio), and rightly so.

I think maybe he got a bit full of himself after that. Like when he complained on his website about how one of his activist meetings in San Diego was "violently disrupted by police in riot gear who hauled [him] away in handcuffs", or something like that - when in fact it was only two cops who showed up to call off the meeting because they'd gone past their permit time and the janitor staff wanted to go home. Demagogues DO have a way of trumping up litttle things like that to make them sound like huge fiascoes.

Regardless, I still want to see Bowling for Columbine. I won't dismiss him completely just because a little bit of pandering to the masses is part of his act.
