A shottie is an English invention, its like a bong - but you burn a whole load of weed in one go and take it all back at once. So it gets you nicely mashed, then.

And meths = methylated spirit = nasty shit used either by mechanics to get the oil off their hands or by tramps when they can't afford proper alcohol.
