That was lovely. So sad to see such a good person leave the service. I spent so much time thinking over all the things I wanted to thank him for, but everyone else pretty much covered it.

Also got to have a nice drunken conversation with the junior doctors and nurse unit manager. My prime opportunity to talk too much and laugh so hard that my face hurt Turns out one of the registrars is younger than me (I shouldn't be surprised; he looks 14 ).

Oh yeah and I'll be super surprised if the NUM remembers this on Monday but she made us swear that from Monday we would high-five each other as we passed each other in the hallway

Update on crappy work scheduling: they're actually doing it right.

Not only am I getting the hours I asked for, when I asked for them, I'm getting what I hoped. Guess it's about time.

(Hope I don't jinx it and find they screw it up for next week. )

Update on life in general: Found out my grandpa on my dad's side passed.

I wasn't close to him, but I'm not really thrilled that I found out two days later via my aunt's Facebook status. Given I live with my parents, it's really not too difficult for them to tell me, is it? Oh well.

And you're right. It's really inappropriate to learn such things through FB. It should've been told in person.
