yeah, when it comes to languages... not my cup of tea.
I just smile and ask "Sprechen Sie English?" if I even spelled it right I have no clue

I like this place and Rendsburg too. Kiel was also nice but haven't really seen it that much yet. Kiel is one of the main places where I try to find a job though so if I get lucky I might see lot more.![]()

What're you looking for?

At least as a foreigner you're not expected to be perfect. I like to think that they appreciate it when you try to speak German, even if they speak English.
Once I really needed to make a phone call, but the first lady I talked to didn't understand English. So I tried in German and managed (how badly I butchered it, dunno, but apparently it worked). She didn't have a phone though, so I ended up asking a guy nearby. When I was done, I said "danke", he said "no problem".![]()

(And for the next trip, I figured out how to make my phone work overseas.)
We need to look into getting one of those disposable sim's or something. Can't have our phones because the roaming charges are HUGE on them.

On my first trip I just went to some shop in Hamburg airport and bought prepaid. They also set it up so I didn't have to figure out how to activate it. Simple. I think it was 20€ or something like that.
