I've been usiing it as standard keyboard.

You just have to remember that you have to do 2 spaces if you want a ' or ". (before a vowel/c)

Nope. I don't have to write in French because I work in Ontario

What happens if you have to do, let's say, a tax decision you wish to have explained or something like that, or anything provincial. You can write them in English as well? 'Cause if I do so here (in Dutch), I won't have an answer!

Yes, because English is still one of our 'Official" languages as well as French so they must provide services in both though sometimes it's a little harder to get English service from the Province since their head offices are in more French areas.

It's the same here. Dutch (or Flemish) is one of the official languages in Belgium. But.. if I try to write to local, provincial or regional/communautairy services in Dutch, I get nothing! (or a letter saying I should use French as language) Because the official language in Wallonia is French. (but as most of my fellow countrymen/-women in NL, I do not recognise inner states, just countries)

One of the reasons I'm trying to do the same thing as you do right now. Try to find a job in Dutch speaking Belgium. (or Brussels)

I don't mind speaking French, but my vocabulairy is not yet enough to do EVERYTHING in French.

It really depends on who happens to get your request I think. Some people are much more willing to help while others just like to be assholes. I have no choice but to work across the border in another province because I can't work fully in French. Even here it's hard to find a 'good' job if you don't speak both languages fluently. Where as if I were to go back to the province of Alberta - where I used to live I would have no problem at all. It's only because Ontario is right next to Quebec. I think they have the same trouble on the other side of the province too..in New Brunswick there is a large population of French speaking people too.
