70K Before Wacken 2013

Hahaaaaa, lots of companies try to move around workers' or branches' agreements. I know a lot of people who do qualified work but don't get overtime money nor extra leave.
Luckily I'm a union member and Meyer Werft falls under the steelwork union agreement, which means I get paid.

I know in Belgium they try to but the union laws here are very severe. Meaning unions have a relatively strong power here. Relatively! Not indefinite.

I think it's modern thinking in Germany that the workers have to help the companies through hard times like the bank / Euro crisis. Therefore they tend to let the bosses cut their salary, do overtime work etc. more likely than in other countries. Also a lot of companies try to sneak themselves aout of agreements.
I think the unions over here are pretty weak.

Well, if you take a closer look then the strength of IG Metall is not that much. But in comparison to all the others we're the almighty gods of striking.

Ah well, we will be able to handle that. Unfortunately my written English is much better because I have time to think about the wording. So speaking to me can sometimes be a little awkward, searching for the right words somewhere back in the depths of my brain. But it'll be cool.

I think there're a lot of people around who at least understand some words.
