Two pieces of good news: got a late Christmas gift from my uncle - a smartphone navigation dock for my car (to make it easier to use as a GPS). I was actually surprised - there's not a whole lot of stuff I need or even want (I actually had to try and find things to ask for this year because I had no idea). But it's actually something I considered getting for myself but didn't want to spend the money for. So yay. 
It's a good one too - specifically for my phone model.
Second piece of good news - I've been having a bit of a problem with my phone's auto-rotate. Basically, it didn't work. It'd be stuck on portrait. Though other accelerometer-based apps still worked. Nothing solved it - restarting it, even factory resetting it. I was afraid I'd have to send it in for warranty. I found and downloaded an app to get around that (by setting the orientation manually for each app), but it wasn't nearly as fast and smooth as it would be if there wasn't any problem, and in other ways wasn't exactly a good solution, but just an adequate one. I was still going to send it in for warranty - I was just procrastinating.
Well, after trying out the navigation dock, I noticed that it seemed to be working normally. So I uninstalled the app - and it works again. Like normal. Can't quite describe how happy I am that my phone's back to 100%.
