Accidentally picking up an Australian accent is not something too many people find easy to do.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but I thought you were bullshitting me about that until I met you![]()

Als ik ooit naar Australië zou gaan, zou ik iedereen voor de gek kunnen houden, door te beweren dat ik daar al 'n hele tijd heb gewoond. Door m'n accent.

It was the most bizarre thing.Bah...Tuesdays at work are so BORING! I should just not come to work on Tuesdays for like a month or something...no-one would notice that much![]()

Well he already speaks English with a fairly thick Australian accent. Dropping a Brittish accent for an Australian one is pretty difficult. Within a day of my first visit to England, it took a couple of weeks to drop their accent and speak with my own. This year I accidentally fooled some locals into thinking I was Brittish even though I was trying really hard to keep my own accent. The following day my real accent came backIt was the most bizarre thing.

Tuesdays without work are boring too.

nt. Though someone told me I had a northern German accent. But that was ages ago.
Well I don't do it on purpose. It just happens. Loads of people have thought I was taking a piss. Same for a couple of my friends. Some picked up the english accent really fast with some english people living close by and going to the same pub. And some others have been to Australia for a year working etc. and picked up the accent pretty quick aswell.

That could be.Because Plattduetsch and Dutch are very simmillare.
