Well, this site says it's at Hamburg Airport, but it doesn't say exactly where it is. Never been to the airport there, but I assume it's big. Hoping I won't have a hard time finding the buses.

Both times I've taken the train from Hamburg HBF, changed at Elmshorn, then either by bus or taxi from Itzehoe. If you're still keen on taking the bus from the airport and you can't find it, just ask someone at the airport information desk. They're pretty well versed about WOA.

On another note, for Summer Breeze last year, I booked the bus from Nürnberg airport directly to the festival site. I had no idea where this bus was, but I walked around in circles and found a metal looking fellow who had a clipboard with my name on it. Perhaps they have a similar set-up at Hamburg airport too...I guess just make sure you allow yourself plenty of time :)

well if there is a shuttlebus going straight from the airport to wacken, than why the hell would you do the whole annoying train thing where you're packed with hundreds of others in small trains? :p

It's more fun that way :p Once at Hamburg HBF/Altona, one can never get lost which is a bonus. The only annoying thing was this little voice behind me going "Ich möchte raus! Ich möchte raus!" right as we were pulling up to Elmshorn station :o

Or We just won't sleep that night I guess..Who's bright idea is it to have the train from the biggest metal fest in Europe leave at 6AM..who's even going to be awake at 6am??!

Man, I'm a sound sleeper and I was lucky to be sleeping past 6am last year :o At my first Wacken, usually I was up between 5 or 6am no matter what time I got to sleep.
From about 4am or so on Sunday, I could hear the announcements about specific buses leaving for whatever country, each announcement ended with "please hurry up". That went on for hours.

Well, I had a really good crack at this new diet today. I struggled with breakfast, but it was filling enough. Later in the day one of my colleagues popped by my desk and said he'd brought in some red velvet cake and offered me (and everyone else too) some, and said "I know how much you like it" :KO: It was cut into really tiny bits and I managed to restrain myself until lunch time when there were just 2 pieces left on the plate (I only had one, normally I'd finish it :p).

As you can imagine, all I could think about was food even though I was far from hungry. Combining this with boring data entry work, and I successfully stopped time :o Seriously, time hasn't passed that slowly since I was waiting for Iggy and the Stooges to finish their set before finally being able to see Rammstein for the first time in my 11 years of being a fan (at the time).

I am not a sound sleeper at all. I have to use ear plugs AND a mask just to be able to get about 4 hours per night in a quiet house. I will not be sleeping probably for the whole 4 days - until I get back to a hotel in Cologne after WoA :ugly:

Great work avoiding eating all the cake. Red Velvet is incredibly dense. Shit will kill your whole deficit! I normally have a big container of oatmeal for breakfast. I follow it with some Greek yogurt (which is awesome protein btw) After that I am not hungry for a good while. How many calories do they have you on?
