I'm no longer completely relying on Google Translate I also have my trusty German:English dictionary and German For Dummies reference book. Disk two is dedicated to grammar, but unfortunately there is nothing dedicated to sentence structure

in german is " you " for "du". that is a wort for friends, mother, or sister. this is person for you know the people ... familiar.

but " you " give in german "Sie". this word is for yourè chef (boss), neighbor, or policeman. the people is foreign.

beispiel:" Kannst Du mir helfen? " familiar

or:" Können Sie mir helfen? " foreign

I just typed in 'can' to see what would come up. My brain just imploded from the possibilities
