My passport would be still valid except it has wrong last name so I decided to get ID (should have got it when name changed but I was lazy) and I can get new passport when I need it. ID is smaller and all I need for this trip

aah. I just got told mine doesn't have to be valid just as long as it didnt expire that long as it eu (or something)...

I don't need passport inside EU, just ID. Would think it's the same for you but I don't know. But I do need ID or passport with correct name and I don't have one, will have soon though.
I will never change my name again. Twice is more than enough.
